SSL / Lets Encrypt Certificates (AutoSSL)

All websites on our cPanel servers will be automatically provisioned with free Lets Encrypt certificates. This will allow you to utilise HTTPS on your website e.g. https://www.example.com - this means users will see the Padlock symbol in their address bar, and more importantly means that any communication with your website are secure.

What doesn't happen automatically however is the use of https on your website. To force HTTPS on your website please check this article for instructions on how to do this.

There are some scenarios when the SSL certificate may not install, for example if you are using a proxy service, such as CloudFlare.

Services like these interrupts the automated verification checks, which means the SSL certificate can't be validated and hence doesn't get installed.

The only way to work around this is to temporarily disable the service e.g. CloudFlare, however this isn't ideal as the certificates are only valid for 3 months, and as AutoSSL runs at night, it means you'd have to leave CloudFlare turned off for 12-24 hours.

The alternative solution would be to purchase an SSL certificate from us which would be valid for 1 to 3 years. Please submit a ticket to our sales team if you'd like us to set you up with a paid SSL certificate.
